Abidjan Launches Regional E-Commerce Hub Initiative
Abidjan has initiated the Tradepost project to establish a new regional e-commerce center for ECOWAS. The official launch and an accompanying workshop occurred on December 1, 2025. This initiative aims to position Côte d’Ivoire as a central player in West Africa’s digital trade landscape.

Platform Aims to Streamline Cross-Border Trade
The Tradepost platform is designed to modernize commercial processes for Ivorian businesses. Specifically, it seeks to accelerate customs procedures and reduce logistical costs. Consequently, small and medium enterprises should gain better access to regional and international markets.
Mr. Assoua Raymond, representing the Digital Transition Ministry, presided over the launch. He emphasized the project’s strategic role in creating new economic pathways. The platform is ultimately intended to boost the country’s competitiveness within the digital economy.
Workshop Fosters Regional Integration
Alongside the launch, a three-day regional workshop convened various stakeholders. This forum allows participants to exchange experiences and share best practices. The collective goal is to deepen economic and digital integration across the entire ECOWAS region.
The initiative reflects a concerted push to harness digital tools for trade facilitation. By centralizing these efforts in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire seeks to strengthen its role as a regional commercial hub.
