Altenar Appoints Regional Director for South African Market Expansion
Sportsbook technology provider Altenar has appointed industry veteran Brendon Jeacocks as its regional director for South Africa. The move represents a significant step in the company’s African expansion strategy following its licensing approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

Strategic Market Entry Following Licensing Success
Altenar secured its National Manufacturer licence from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in December 2024. This regulatory milestone enables the company to supply sportsbook technology solutions to licensed operators across South Africa and broader African markets. The licensing represents a foundation for Altenar’s localized approach to the continent’s growing iGaming sector.
Jeacocks brings over eight years of online gaming industry experience, with particular expertise in finance, regulation, and compliance. His background includes serving as Financial Manager at African operator SportPesa and working as an independent consultant for South African iGaming brands.
Building Local Presence with Industry Expertise
The appointment positions Altenar to leverage Cape Town-based operations for market development. Jeacocks will serve as the primary local contact point while developing partnerships with regional operators. His role focuses on adapting Altenar’s premium data providers, localized sports offerings, and mobile applications to meet South African market demands.
John Quaye, CFO at Altenar, noted that Jeacocks’ market expertise positions the company for strong growth. The appointment reflects Altenar’s commitment to establishing meaningful partnerships and tailoring products to regional sports betting preferences in Africa’s mobile-first gaming environment.
