IBIA and African iGaming Alliance Form Betting Integrity Partnership
The International Betting Integrity Association signed a cooperation agreement with the African iGaming Alliance on November 4, 2025. The memorandum of understanding establishes IBIA as AIA’s strategic betting integrity partner. AIA will serve as IBIA’s primary policy and regulation partner for African markets.
Match-Fixing Monitoring Covers Continental Events
IBIA reported 131 suspicious betting alerts across African sporting events between 2020 and Q3, 2025. Football generated 64 alerts, while tennis accounted for 62 cases. The organization monitors over 1.5 million sporting events annually, with $300 billion in total betting volume tracked.
IBIA operates with support from over 90 operators and 200 betting brands globally. The association’s alerts contributed to successful prosecution of match-fixing cases worldwide. Intelligence sharing and stakeholder collaboration form core elements of IBIA’s monitoring system.
Strategic Cooperation Targets Regulatory Standards
The partnership facilitates joint engagement on betting integrity and regulatory developments across Africa. Both organizations will share insights on policy trends affecting continental markets. The agreement supports harmonization of standards and responsible gaming promotion.
Khalid Ali, IBIA’s CEO, stated that Africa represents one of the most dynamic betting markets globally. He noted robust integrity standards and effective regulation remain essential for sustainable growth. The partnership reinforces commitment to supporting well-regulated African betting industry development.
Peter Emolemo Kesitilwe, AIA’s CEO, described integrity as the foundation of Africa’s betting future. He emphasized the partnership represents a step toward ensuring the growing industry operates on trust and transparency. The cooperation aims to strengthen Africa’s position as a regulated iGaming market through standardized frameworks and regulatory support.
