Lagos State Strengthens Efforts to Tackle Underage Gambling

The Lagos State Government has reinforced its zero-tolerance policy on underage gambling. The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) emphasized this commitment during a press conference with key stakeholders in the gaming industry.

Stricter Regulations and Public Awareness

Authorities have tightened regulations to protect minors from gambling risks. The government has launched public awareness campaigns, including advertisements on public transport and responsible gaming messages that commuters must listen to before accessing free Wi-Fi on trains. These initiatives highlight the state’s proactive approach to addressing the issue.

In addition to regulatory efforts, Lagos is preparing to host the Africa Gaming Expo Lagos 2025. The event will take place from February 25-27 at the Eko Convention Centre and will focus on artificial intelligence and fintech’s role in shaping the gaming industry.

Industry Participation and Government Involvement

Over 500 delegates have already registered for the conference, which will bring together industry leaders, regulators, and stakeholders. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will inaugurate the three-day event, marking a key moment for the region’s gaming sector. The expo will serve as a platform to discuss trends, regulatory developments, and new opportunities in Africa’s gaming landscape.
