Liberia Introduces Integrated Gaming Licence with Banking Access
Liberia’s National Lottery Authority introduced the International Integrated Gaming License, attracting international operators to the country’s gaming sector. The permit combines regulatory approval with local banking access and compliance support unveiled earlier this month. The license provides a comprehensive solution for online casino operators entering the market.
Banking and Compliance Package Streamlines Entry
The permit includes a verified Liberian bank account for USD and EUR SWIFT transfers. Operators receive a dedicated anti-money laundering officer and formal business address in Liberia. Previously, companies had to arrange these elements separately through processes taking months without reliable international banking relationships.
The NLA stated the integrated approach delivers what the sector has been missing. The license is operationally effective from day one, according to authority announcements. European and African operators contacted the NLA to explore options, with some citing the banking and compliance package as the main attraction.
Fee Structure Targets International Operators
Companies must pay a non-refundable application fee of $5,000 to apply. Approved operators pay issuance fees between $25,000 and $50,000 depending on operation size. Annual renewal costs range from $10,000 to $20,000 for licensed operators.
The license generates new tax revenue and local employment in compliance and administration sectors. The NLA collected over $2 million from gaming activities in recent years. The authority expects figures to rise as international brands enter the market without standard banking obstacles.
Approved operators must launch operations within three months or face license revocation. The framework removes delays previously experienced by companies establishing online casino operations in Liberia’s jurisdiction.
