The R19 million Lotto jackpot was won by a father of five who claimed his prize six days after the draw held on November 20, 2024. For safekeeping, he had tucked his winning ticket under his mattress until the day he claimed his fortune.

Despite the life-changing win, the man described himself as a “simple man” and expressed his intention to maintain his humble lifestyle. Speaking about his current living situation, he said:

“My children and I live in a two-bedroom house with an outside toilet. The younger ones sleep with me, while the older children sleep in the outside structure. I want to make home improvements and buy beds for my children.”

His plans for the winnings include purchasing his first car, building a home for his elderly mother, and ensuring quality education for his children.

Strategy Behind the R19 Million Win

The father shared that his victory came as no surprise since he consistently plays the same set of numbers. On noticing that his lucky numbers matched the winning ones, he sent his son to validate the ticket at a local shop.
