Uganda’s Gaming License Deadline Looms
Ugandan gaming operators have two days to complete their license renewals for 2026. The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board will not accept applications submitted after the October 31 deadline.

Immediate Deadline for Operating Rights
The regulator issued an official notice confirming the closure of the renewal window. The NLGRB stated, “The renewal window closes on October 31, 2025, and any applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.” All submissions must be made through the official e-licensing platform.
Operators who fail to meet the deadline risk losing their rights to operate in the upcoming year. This could directly impact business continuity. The board will not consider late applications.
Mandatory Compliance Documentation
Renewal is contingent upon providing specific documents and meeting technical standards. The NLGRB requires proof of “full compliance with regulatory obligations”. This includes audited financial statements and valid tax clearance certificates.
Certificates of good conduct for directors and NITA-U IT system certification are also mandatory. A critical technical requirement is the integration of all gaming systems with the National Central Electronic Monitoring System. This integration must be completed before renewal approval is granted.
