The inspections occur during heightened tensions following government introduction of a 10% tax on betting stakes earlier this year. Operators including Betway and BetPawa suspended operations in protest, arguing the tax would force closure. The Constitutional Court dismissed their legal challenge, leaving the stake tax in effect.
